A well-known German clubber and restaurant owner started to lose his hair at the age of 26, and he really hated every moment of it. After trying out all types of pills and creams available in the market, he was unsuccessful in saving his balding head and quickly understood that many of these treatments, were simply a waste of time and money. As a last resort, he flew off to Turkey, to the clinic of Dr. Serkan Aygin who promised not only to get him all his natural hair back, but also to fulfill his promise in no time at all. Today, Partick has a full head of beautiful, natural hair and we are here to share his story in order to encourage people of all ages to stop being frustrated, and to simply join the hundreds that have visited Istanbul to solve their hair loss problem for good.
Over the last 8 years, Partick has dedicated a significant amount of time encouraging others to take control of their balding. "My father is bald, and I knew I was likely to become bald too, as I got older,” says Partick, now aged 34. "I definitely didn’t think that my hair would start to fall out so early, at the age of 26. One evening, I wanted to style my hair and head off to a cool party when I suddenly noticed that something really terrible was happening, and I felt completely numb. As I was combing my hair, I saw that at least 20 hairs were caught in the comb. At that moment, I felt like I wanted to die as a quickly realized that my biggest fear of being bald was quickly becoming a reality and that I was powerless to do anything about it and to make it stop.”
Partick became obsessed with his hair and did everything he could think of to try save his hair. "In the morning, I spent over an hour treating my hair and then before I went to bed every night, I would spend another hour massaging my scalp, hoping it would stimulate blood flow to my head and encourage hair growth.”
““All I could think of every minute of every day is why it this happening to me, and I prayed that people around me were not able to see my balding hair, even though it was really obvious to me. I was determined not to lose the fight against my hair and I started using all types of pills that promised to speed up hair growth, such as Minoxidil 5 and many others. I spent thousands of euros and despite all my hopes, nothing came out of these treatments but more tears and this horrible sinking feeling that I was losing my good looks and best years, all in vain."
A year after Partick started losing his hair, he started to thoroughly investigate the option of a hair transplant abroad and interestingly enough, he found that the leading country that offers this option is none other than - Istanbul, Turkey. In fact, there are plenty of excellent medical clinics that are highly recognized in this field. While doing some research online, Partick searched on Google for a clinic that offered the widest selection of ‘Before’ and ‘After’ photos from people worldwide and it was then that he discovered Dr. Serkan Aygin’s clinic.
""I immediately sent the doctor an email with a photo of my head from all directions and after a few hours, Dr. Serkan Aygin responded to say that I was a suitable candidate for a hair transplant. On Thursday, I flew to Istanbul with my girlfriend and when we arrived, a car from the clinic was waiting for us and took us directly to meet with Dr. Serkan Aygin at his clinic. On arrival, we received a warm welcome and some delicious coffee and Turkish delights. I then met with Dr. Serkan Aygin personally and within a few minutes, he started marking my head with a marker and asking me where I wanted the hair growth to start from on my forehead. He then stated that I would need approximately 3,500 new follicles.””
After meeting with Dr. Serkan Aygin, everything happened so quickly for Partick. By the next morning, at 8:00am, Partick received a local anesthetic in the back of his head and then one on his forehead. “I really did not feel any pain and the treatment was carried out, while I remained seated, enjoying the company around me. While working on my head, Dr. Serkan reported that in order to ensure that my head would be covered completely with natural hair, he had implanted 4,200 new follicles. After 4.5 hours, I was released with a bandage wrapped around my head that kind of looked like a bandana. I then headed out with my girlfriend to a nearby mall to get some lunch.”
As part of the recovery process, Partick was told to fold a towel at night and to put it under his head when he went to sleep. In addition, pain killers were prescribed but he never felt any pain, so Partick never used them. The following day, Saturday, Partick visited the clinic for his first hair wash, which was done by a nurse. On Sunday, he spent the day shopping with his girlfriend and eating delicious kebab in a fancy restaurant, after which they both returned to Germany.
"That one weekend has changed my life forever,” Partick declared when he was interviewed.
"For the first 10 days after the surgery, I was not allowed to sweat, especially on my scalp and since I had had the surgery done in August, it was pretty tough with the heatwave in Europe. I simply stayed indoors, close to the air conditioner.” One month later, Partick’s hair started growing back naturally and he had a new energy for life. To top it off, his girlfriend was super excited that he looked so good and of course, Partick has loved every minute of the extra attention.
“Ever since getting back from Turkey, I find myself looking in the mirror all the time and uploading selfies on my Facebook and Instagram accounts. I love the way I look, and I just can’t seem to get enough of it. You probably cannot relate to my feelings, especially if you have never lost most of your hair and then got it all back. Thanks to my successful experience, I now dedicate a lot of my time sharing my story with others, especially with my father….”
This Weekend Has Changed My Life Forever
So, what is the price for this type of happiness?
"The whole procedure cost me 2,250 euros, including the deluxe hotel for three nights."
Partick is proud to share the selfies of his new hair, taken from every angle, with the world.
Partick shared his post on Facebook, including ‘Before’ and ‘After’ photos. “I could not believe that after feeling so stressed out and depressed for so long, that resolving my hair loss problem would be so easy and I wanted to share this positive experience with all my friends. After posting my story, most of my bald friends travelled to Istanbul and it wasn’t to simply stay at top all-inclusive hotels. More and more men decided to take a stand and to also get this life-changing treatment. "
Today, Partick is still highly recommending Dr. Ag'in Serkan (49) who graduated from Istanbul University, specializing in dermatology. Over the last decade, Dr. Serkan Aygin has successfully performed hair transplants for over 10 thousand men at his clinic. These men have come from many European countries, while thousands of new clients have started arriving also from Gulf countries. "Even people from the United States have been coming to see me," says Dr. Serkan Aygin. "While the US offers options of robotic hair transplants, the success rate of these have been very low.”
According to Dr. Serkan Aygin, all balding man can undergo a hair transplant, "provided that they are over the age of 20, and provided they have sufficient hair in the rear of their head, which is the main source of prompting hair growth at the top of the scalp. In rare cases, I take follicles from the patient’s back and chest and then transplant these onto the scalp. An average man requires approximately 3,000 follicles, but when someone comes to me late in the balding process, I sometimes need to implant over 7,000 follicles and I do this over two treatments.”
Even women have consulted with Dr. Serkan Aygin. “Women often consult with me so I can thicken their eyebrows, or to lower their hairline on their foreheads in order to hide their wrinkles." Dr. Serkan Aygin also states without hesitation, “If I suffered with balding, I would undergo this treatment. The fact is it has no side effects and it does not affect your overall health."
If the demand existed, would Dr. Serkan Aygin consider opening a clinic in Germany?
"Not really. I love Istanbul. My clinic is equipped with the most sophisticated technology in the world, plus we can also handle patients’ flight arrangements and accommodation. So there really isn’t a need."
